Our Activities

Tuesday Night COM-Unity

Tuesday Night COM-Unity is our main event and is the very backbone of our organization. We meet each Tuesday evening to sing songs, discuss a topic, play games, and simply get to know each other better! Whether having an in-depth study of a Bible story, or contemplating a current events issue that is in the news, Tuesday Night discussions are always interesting! We’re just as interested in the questions as we are the answers – and sometimes we leave with just as many questions as we came with! We also have nights dedicated to fun and relaxation! Whether playing volleyball in the yard a Messy Game Night, amazing friendships are made each year.

Weekly Bible Study

Christians Open Minded holds a weekly Bible Study – a great way to pause in the middle of a busy day in order to learn more about our lives from the Word of God. We hold the same Bible Study lesson/discussion twice each week, so come to whichever one fits your schedule! The Bible Study is led by our campus minister, Rev. Dr. Darrell Woomer.

Friday Night Fun

Does it ever seem like there’s nothing to do on campus during the weekends? Join COM as we go out! Some Friday nights are spent at Potter House watching movies or playing video games. Other weeks, we’ll go bowling, mini-golfing, laser-tagging, or ice skating! Almost all of our events are free! No matter what, Friday Nights are a great time to get together and unwind after a hard week of studying! Invite a friend and see you on Friday!

Annual Mission Trips

Each year, UCM/COM sends a team of workers to the Appalachian region of America over spring break. Teaming up with Appalachia Service Projects, the group does home repair for those who desperately need it, visits with residents, and performs other assorted tasks. At the end of the spring semester, UCM/COM also sponsors an international trip for either a medical/dental mission or home repair/education ministries.

Last Lecture Series

Each semester, COM’s Last Lecture Series brings well-known and well-liked Millersville University professors to give an evening lecture. The catch? They’re giving the lecture as if they know it’s the last lecture they’ll ever give on this earth. The professor is free to discuss anything they want to tell students before their time on earth is through. Some may discuss their favorite topic in their field of study, while others may focus on the importance of faith in their life. The sky is truly the limit!

Retreats & Other Trips

Some of the greatest times of bonding and building relationships comes when we are far from the many distractions that the college life brings. Join COM as we “get away” for the weekend! COM’s annual fall and spring retreats travel to Berg Haus in Cleona, PA – a peaceful cabin in the rolling hills of Lebanon County. The weekend retreats allow for enjoying the beautiful weather and growing in faith, as well as lots of fun games and time to relax by the fire. We have also traveled to Shenandoah National Park in Virginia, as well as frequent afternoon trips to Chique’s Rock, a small Lancaster County park gracing the Susquehanna River shoreline.
